Magical May At Crich Tramway Museum

Early May Bank Holiday is on the 6th May in 2024, this is an annual public holiday in the United Kingdom with many of us being able to enjoy an extra day off work. In this article we’re going to look at some of the top things to do in Derbyshire and in the area of our Exclusive Housing Development in Bullbridge.

Magical May at the Crich Tramway Museum

The Crich Tramway Museum is famed for it’s bank holiday celebrations and this year is no exception. Attend the museum for Magical May with so much to do including meet the Fairy Queen, Mayploe Dancing and Woodies Wings Owls and Parrots and BB Falconry on-site, don’t forget that ever important ride on the trams and a visit to the sweet shop.

Belper Arts Trail

The Belper Arts Trail is in it’s 11th year, a fantastic event with artists being provided a space to exhib and sell their work throughout Belper town centre. In 2024 there will be over 170 artisits, makers and creatives in over 50 venues.

Visit the main stage in the Memorial Gardens and enjoy some amazing entertainment, there is also plenty to do for the kids including the Quite Remarkable theatre company who will be putting on hour long shows at the Ritz Cinema.

Victorian Train Weekend at Butterley

Within a stones throw of Bullbridge is Midland Railway Centre and over the early May Bank Holiday it is their exciting Victorian Train Weekend enabling you to experience travel as it would have been over 100 years ago.

Staff will all be in costume to give it a really authentic feel and many of the special trains will be running alongside their victoria railway carriages. Don’t forget to get off at Swanwick Junction for a wander around the vast museum complex, visit the country park and step inside the Victorian Railwayman’s Church.

Superhero Weekend at Matlock Farm Park

The local superhero team including the Neighbourhood Spider, The Bat and Girl of Steel will be attending Matlock Farm Park for an exciting weekend with plenty of photo opportunities for the kids, performances and playtime.

Don’t forget to join in the Sheep Races and the small animal petting area!

Victorian Weekend at the Heights of Abraham

Celebrate heritage and history at the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, over the bank holiday weekend join Mr Benjamin Bryan the victorian owner on amazing tours around the grounds. You can even venture underground!

Admission includes a ride on the cable car, access to the cavern tours, the film theatre and playgrounds/woodlands.
